Who was the defining composer of the 20th Century ? Not an easy task to choose, because the beginning of the century had
such masters as Mahler and Sibelius, but the 20th Century was later on an all Russian affair if you ask me (and no, i am
not even Russian). I love the music of Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Stravinsky and Schnittke.



And the best composer of Piano works is to me by far this man: Sergey Sergeyevich PROKOFIEV (1891-1953). His Piano Works
was released in 1990-93 on 9 cd's by Chandos. I have 5 of them and they are all absolutely brilliant. I have been
enjoying these recordings some 10-15 years already. So, i thought, why not share them with you ? I will... here is
Vol.1.



Ripped today with dBpoweramp. AccurateRip LOG incl. tells 18 tracks accurate, only the last track 19 was inaccurate even
after ultra-secure ripping - but i listened through it after ripping and couldn't hear any errors - it shouldn't bother
you then i hope.

Enjoy ! 4 Volumes will come later. Prokofiev, who was persecuted by Stalin and fate had it that he had to die on the
very same day as Stalin. What a tragedy ! But his music lives on and his output for Piano is to me the Best of the 20th
Century. I have Vol. 1,2,3,4,8. If somebody out there can post the missing volumes, please do that !
